WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
Lili Taylor stars in The Addiction as Kathleen Conklin, a college student whose life takes a terrifying turn when she is bitten by a vampire (Annabella Sciorra). In her desperate search for blood, she turns to the one creature who can save her—a master vampire (Christopher Walken) who has been fasting for more than forty years. Far away from the confines of the university, Kathleen falls under the tutelage of this immortal being. The lesson she learns from him takes her to the very edge of existence as she is about to experience a brutal and deadly redemption.

LaserDisc Picture:
The black and white 1.82:1 picture exhibits an excellent grayscale with sharp and detailed images. Shadow detail and contrast is mediocre. Slight noise is apparent in the darker scenes and artifacts are minimal.

LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The soundtrack is mediocre sounding with background noise and a predominantly monaural character. The only occasional stereo sound effects and subtle surrounds are found in the rap music score.
