WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
At 23 years-old, Francis Ford Coppola made his directorial debut with Dementia 13, a horrifying look at the ill-fated Haloran family fortunes set in the moors of Ireland. Beginning with the untimely death of the youngest daughter, Kathleen, years before. But when the conniving Louise drops her dead husband in a nearby pond, for fear of being cut off from the family inheritance, she begins to investigate deep into the mystery behind Kathleen’s death—only to discover the hard way that there is an axe-wielding fiend with plans to thin out selected Halorans.

LaserDisc Picture:
The black and white picture, matted at 1.50:1, exhibits a poor grayscale with major distracting artifacts. Blacks are, at best, a newspaper dark gray and the whites glow with halos. Images are wanting in sharpness and detail with extremely poor contrast.

LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The sound is undistinguished and compressed monaural that is distorted.
