WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
Inspired by true events, Normal Life stars Luke Perry and Ashley Judd as Chris and Pam Anderson, a couple who yearn for the suburban American dream. But when their debts climb and Chris loses his job on the police force, he secretly turns to robbing banks to make his disturbed, self-destructive wife’s dreams come true. Upon discovering her husband’s secret, Pam joins his deadly crime game, terrorizing an unsuspecting town in an attempt to assemble the normal life they desire. Normal Life is a disturbing and thought-provoking thriller.

LaserDisc Picture:
The picture exhibits natural-looking colors with accurate fleshtones, rich and vibrant colors and deep, solid blacks. Images are generally sharp and detailed with good shadow detail and contrast. Some slight noise is apparent with minor artifacts. The aspect ratio is matted at 1.85:1.

LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The Dolby® Surround soundtrack presents a generally narrow focused soundstage with subtle surrounds. Dialogue is noticeably ADR-produced in many scenes and is wanting in spatial integration. Overall, the sound is monaural in character and is wanting throughout.
