WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
The first in the popular In The Line Of Duty series, Royal Warriors features Michelle Yeoh (who has recently achieved international recognition as the Bond Girl from Tomorrow Never Dies) as a Hong Kong policewoman with outstanding martial arts skills, who joins forces with a kind-hearted Japanese Interpol Agent (Henry Sanada) and an intelligent air security officer (Michael Wong) to botch a plane hijacking attempt. But the terrorists vow revenge and the three heroes must team up once again to stop the attacks and save their own lives in this exciting and explosive action thriller. An English-dubbed soundtrack is available on analog tracks.

LaserDisc Picture:
The picture, matted at 1.80:1, is very problematic. Images are extremely blurry with oversaturated and yellowish color fidelity and deep, undefined blacks. Images are wanting in sharpness and detail with poor contrast and shadow detail. Noise and distracting artifacts are apparent throughout.

LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The soundtrack is undistinguished monaural that sounds compressed and distorted with background noise.
