WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
Originally titled The Jezebels upon its initial release and later re-labeled The Playgirl Gang, the film now known as Switchblade Sisters seemed to be a boxoffice disaster regardless of the name under which it appeared. Based on a story by director Jack Hill, John Prizer and F.X. Maier, the film involves an all-girl street gang who wreak havoc in an urban wasteland, fighting for loyalty and justice with more rage and toughness than any rival male gang.

LaserDisc Picture:
The matted 1.82:1 picture looks dated with a dark unnatural character throughout. Colors are generally natural, but appear plugged-up in interiors with reddish fleshtones and deep, undefined blacks. Noise and occasional artifacts are apparent.

LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The soundtrack is undistinguished monaural that is sometimes distorted. The mono signal irritatingly appears in the front left and right channels, as well as the center and surround channel.
