WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
Next Stop Wonderland explores the unpredictable, often hysterical world of dating. When Erin’s (Hope Davis) environmentalist boyfriend leaves her for another cause, Erin’s overbearing mother (Holland Taylor) places a personal ad for her that garners 64 responses. Let the blind dates begin!

LaserDisc Picture:
The 1.85:1 picture exhibits color fidelity that is quite natural in appearance, with accurate fleshtones, fully saturated colors and deep, solid blacks. Images vary in sharpness, sometimes appearing natural, while othertimes soft. Contrast and shadow delineation are nicely rendered throughout, and the overall picture is easy on the eyes, with no overbearing colors. Noise is apparent throughout, but artifacts are occasional.

LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The soundtrack varies in quality, but is highlighted by the Bossa Nova music score. The Dolby® Digital discrete 5.1 soundtrack often drops the surround signal that is heard on the matrix PCM version. Bass from the other sound elements has been mixed to the .1 LFE channels. Dialogue is naturally recorded, but fidelity is not always complementing.
