WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
Woo, played by Jada Pinkett Smith, is a sassy and confident party girl who has her pick of any guy in Manhattan. But when a psychic tells her she will meet the man of her dreams, she takes a chance on a blind date with Tim (Tommy Davidson), a shy law student. Tim and Woo couldn’t be more different, but they find that opposites can most certainly attract on their wild night in the city.

LaserDisc Picture:
The 1.85:1 picture is sharp and detailed with nicely rendered fine detail and definition. Colors are vibrant, with eye-popping saturation, natural fleshtones, and deep, solid blacks. There is minor noise apparent in the darker scenes, but no distracting artifacts. Sometimes, interior scenes are wanting in clarity, but the overall picture is pleasing.

LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The soundtrack is nicely produced and delivered in both Dolby® Digital 5.1 discrete and matrix PCM Dolby Surround. Envelopment is at times aggressive and enhanced by a terrific music score. Dialogue sounds natural and is nicely integrated spatially. The score nicely complements the humor for a sonic experience that is sure to please, especially the Dolby Digital rendering.
