WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
A group of reckless, partying teens crash their car on a deserted road in Campfire Tales. Stranded, they gather around a roaring fire and pass the time telling terrifying tales. But the most horrifying story of all is yet to come—and this one is completely real. Tame, by some standards, those who avoid horror movies can watch most of this one with their eyes open.

LaserDisc Picture:
The 1.85:1 picture exhibits excellent color fidelity. Taking place mostly outdoors at night, contrast and shadow delineation are superb. Images are sharp and detailed, with nicely rendered textures and fine detail. All aspects of visual quality are nicely rendered, with the exception of minor, but consistent noise.

LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The Dolby® Surround matrix soundtrack sounds slightly bright, but with an aggressive soundfield presence that at times is effectively dimensional and dynamic. Surround envelopment is aggressive throughout and bass extension is at times powerful to below 25Hz. The music score is well recorded and conveys a haunting effect. Dialogue is wanting in spatial integration. Generally the sound effectively creates a terrifying mood.
