WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
Buddy, the hoop-shooting canine in his first film now becomes a football star in Air Bud: Golden Receiver. When Buddy’s owner Josh (Kevin Zegers) joins his school football team, Buddy decides to join in on the fun. That is until two sinister crooks dognap Buddy and send him off to perform in a circus. Based on the character created by Kevin DiCicco.

LaserDisc Picture:
The picture, matted at 1.82:1, exhibits sharp and detailed images with good clarity and definition. Colors are fully saturated, with rich and vibrant hues, and deep, pure blacks. Occasionally, fleshtones appear slightly orange with plugged-up interior scenes. Contrast and shadow delineation are nicely rendered. There is slight noise apparent, but no artifacts for a pleasing picture that will not disappoint its younger audience.

LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The Dolby® Surround matrix PCM soundtrack is satisfying with, at times, good spatial dimensionality and an aggressive surround presence. The music score is lively and well recorded with an expansive soundstage and good bass extension. Dialogue is at times wanting in spatial integration, though generally sounds natural. While a bit inconsistent, the music score, effects and ambience work well for an enjoyable experience.
