WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
Based on the novel by Stephen McCanley, The Object Of My Affection is a romantic comedy that pushes the lines between love, sex and friendship. George Hanson (Paul Rudd) is at a dinner party when he leans from Nina (Jennifer Aniston)—a total stranger—that he is about to be dumped by his boyfriend. It isn’t long before he moves into Nina’s spare bedroom. And when Nina becomes pregnant, she makes a shocking decision to raise the baby with George, not her boyfriend.

LaserDisc Picture:
The picture, matted at 1.82:1, exhibits a very natural quality with wonderfully rendered colors. Images are exceptionally presented as are all aspects of visual quality.

LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The Dolby® Digital discrete 5.0 and matrix PCM soundtracks sound manufactured, especially dialogue which is quite forward in character. The matrix PCM version sounds more spatial overall. Dialogue is out of place with the other sound elements and soundtrack level is above that of reference SPL. The music score sounds terrific and expansive. Bass generally sounds natural and, at times, the matrix PCM extends deeper than the Dolby Digital low end which is not supported with a .1 LFE signal.
