WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
Based on the stage play by Wendy MacLeod, The House Of Yes is the offbeat story of Marty (Josh Hamilton), who yearns for a normal life and a quiet Thanksgiving. But when he surprises his not-so-normal family with his new fiancé (Tori Spelling), he nearly drives his literally insane, dangerously jealous sister (Parker Posey) completely over the edge.

LaserDisc Picture:
The home video-style beginning scenes are effectively created with oversaturated colors, artifacts and print scratches. The movie itself features truly rich, sometimes stylized colors that at times appear slightly oversaturated and undefined, but with generally natural fleshtones, and deep, solid blacks. Images exhibit inconsistencies in sharpness; sometimes appearing finely detailed, and other times softly focused. Minor noise and artifacts are apparent. The aspect ratio is 1.88:1.

LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The matrix Dolby® Surround soundtrack is mediocre and sounds muffled with dialogue that is poorly integrated spatially and slightly unintelligible. Storm scenes, while effectively energized with bass and aggressive surround, are veiled sounding. The music is limited and pulled toward center. Overall the soundtrack just manages to engage the viewer in the movie.
