WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
In Overnight Delivery, Wyatt Tripps (Paul Rudd) and his high school sweetheart, Kim Jasney (Christine Taylor), are facing four years of college separation. When he begins to think that Kim has not been faithful to him, Wyatt and his new friend Ivy (Reese Witherspoon) send a nasty break-up Valentine’s letter to Kim via overnight delivery. But as fast as the delivery truck speeds away with his package, he learns that it was all a big misunderstanding and has only 24 hours to get the letter back—or realize that his true love is Ivy.

LaserDisc Picture:
The picture, framed at 2.0:1, looks generally natural, but exhibits a slightly dark cast over the color fidelity. With that in mind, colors are rich and warm with accurate fleshtones and deep, solid blacks. Images are sharp and detailed with good shadow detail and contrast, but would benefit from slightly better clarity. Minor noise is apparent, but artifacts are virtually undetected.

LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The Dolby® Surround soundtrack has a driving music score with deep bass extension centered at about 40Hz. Dialogue, though ADR-produced, sounds natural. Overall, the music is what makes this a pleaser.
