WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
Based upon stories from the Bible, The Ten Commandments makes a pilgrimage over the very ground that Moses trod more than 3,000 years ago. This is the story of Moses (Heston), adopted as a child into the Pharaoh’s household, who later leads his people to freedom.

LaserDisc Picture:
The newly remastered LaserDisc features deeply saturated and vibrant colors and fleshtones that look splendid on this new edition with improved resolution. Artifacts have been minimized and there is less grain and noise for an eye catching experience. The framing is presented in a 1.75:1 aspect ratio, not 2:1, which has been credited elsewhere as the original.

LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The original theatrical soundtrack was produced with interlock magnetic stereo and optical Perspecta Stereophonic Sound. A new Dolby® Digital 5.1 discrete soundtrack is credited, made from combining the stereo music tracks from the 1956 scoring sessions together with the film's original sound elements. Originally, the soundtrack had fully directionalized dialogue which this does not and the music is barely stereo. Whatever the "audio restoration performers" had intended does not do justice to the theatrical roadshow presentation.
