WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
Righting Wrongs (also known as Above The Law) is an explosive action thriller that features Yuen Biao as a mild-mannered prosecutor who takes the law into his own hands when the justice system fails to capture one of the most notorious criminals. When his only strong witnesses against two drug trafficking killers are murdered, he has no option but to seek justice himself. When a gutsy inspector (Cynthia Rothrock) is assigned to stop Yuen’s vengeance, another murder brings them together in the search for the elusive real killer.

LaserDisc Picture:
The 1.90:1 picture is riddled with inconsistencies. Color fidelity mimics the predominant background color with little variation. Only exterior scenes provide any kind of natural appearance. Colors are oversaturated and wanting in clarity. Shadow delineation is poor, undefined and bluish. Artifacts are always apparent, but noise is limited to the plugged up interior scenes.

LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The soundtrack is undistinguished monaural that is distorted and irritating.
