WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
I Know What You Did Last Summer, based on the book by Lois Duncan, is a terrifying story of four teenagers haunted by a secret from their past. On the first night after high school, Julie (Jennifer Love Hewitt), Helen (Sarah Michelle Gellar), Ray (Freddie Prinze, Jr.) and Barry (Ryan Phillipe) speed along a dark, scenic drive. No one sees the body that suddenly seemed to fly out of nowhere and directly into the car’s grill. The seemingly lifeless crumpled form laying in the road clouds their bright futures with thoughts of scandal and possible arrest, so when they push the body off a seaside pier, they think their secret slides into the murky depths with it. One year later, someone is stalking them. And he will bring the same terror to them that they brought to a stranger whose only crime was being in the wrong place at the wrong time.
