WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
In the slapstick comedy, The Return Of The Pink Panther, Peter Sellers reprieves his role as the bumbling Inspector Jacques Clouseau. The priceless Pink Panther diamond is once again stolen. Feeling certain that the heist is the work of the suave Phantom, the inept Closeau sets out to investigate in the country of Lugash. Tracked by Chief Inspector Dreyfus (Lom), Clouseau unleashes crime-busting chaos across all Europe in comical search of the jewel thief. Packed with verbal and physical slapstick, this is one of the funniest movies in this cherished series.

LaserDisc Picture:
The Panavisioin® scope frame has a 2.32:1 aspect. The picture looks dated and is wanting in sharpness and detail. The color fidelity is poor with washed out colors, unnaturally palish and bland fleshtones and undersaturated blacks. Slight noise, grain and artifacts are apparent throughout.

LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The soundtrack is compressed and undistinguished monaural that is distorted with severe hum and hissing noises. Still, the sound delivers the wonderful Mancini score.
