WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
Wing Chun stars the beautiful Yeoh, as martial arts expert Wing Chun. If her stunning beauty doesn’t bring you to your knees, her deadly drop kick will. In a male dominated society, the fiercely independent Wing Chun uses her courage and strength to help her survive. But when her village and family are threatened, it takes a lethal blend of physical skill and coordination to make a final stand against her enemies. With martial arts direction from Yuen Wo Ping, Donnie Yen and Yuen Shun Yi, Wing Chun is filled with action and is sure to please any fan of the martial arts genre.

LaserDisc Picture:
The picture is matted at 1.78:1. Saturated in distorted yellowish colors, the color fidelity is unnatural, revealing abnormal fleshtones and washed out blacks. Shadow detail is poor and the picture is wanting in sharpness and detail. Slight noise and distracting artifacts are apparent throughout.

LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The soundtrack is produced in pseudo stereo effect, but is still spatially restricted, resulting in a monaural character. Dialogue is strident, forward and completely unnatural. The sound is not spatially integrated, having an overall “manufactured” quality that is not appealing.
