WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
Tenchi The Movie: Tenchi Muyo In Love is a dramatic tale of the literally star-crossed love between Tenchi’s alien mother and human father. Tenchi Muyo, the eponymous main character whose name translates to “Heaven (Tenchi) and Earth (Muyo),“ is forced to go back in time to save his parents from an alien threat which could destroy not only them, but all of humanity. A remarkable story which examines life and global friendship.

LaserDisc Picture:
The 1.85:1 picture exhibits excellent color fidelity, vibrant colors and deep solid blacks. The animation is extremely sharp and detailed, with excellent contrast. This is a solid picture with only minor artifacts.

LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The soundtrack is well recorded and both the matrix PCM and the Dolby Digital 5.1 discrete versions are exciting sonic experiences. The discrete is slightly more open sounding with split surround presence and a wider frontal soundstage. Dialogue is always intelligible with excellent directionality, proving this to be a well produced presentation.
