WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
Bed Of Roses is a fairy tale romance, set against the magical backdrop of New York City in the springtime and tells the story about the kind of love that comes once in a lifetime. Lisa Walker (Mary Stuart Masterson), a typical workaholic, content with her anti-social lifestyle, receives an extraordinary floral arrangement from a secret admirer, Lewis Farrell (Christian Slater). Her curiosity propels her to search for the chivalrous man behind the mystery. What she finds, however, is a love so powerful that it changes her life forever. Bed Of Roses is a wonderful romantic story that will capture your heart.

LaserDisc Picture:
The picture is matted at 1.88:1 and looks very natural with warm colors, accurate fleshtones and deep solid blacks. Images are sharp and detailed with excellent shadow detail and contrast and only the slightest noise is apparent in some scenes.

LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The soundtrack is conventionally produced with a well recorded music score that defines the subtle surround presence, but otherwise the sonic character is generally mono. Occasionally there are sound effects in stereo, but otherwise, the spatiality is inconsistent. Dialogue is extensively ADR-produced and sounds unnatural and manufactured.
