WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
A Nightmare On Elm Street 2: Freddy’s Revenge is the sequel to the 1984 horror movie about the dream-haunting grudge-holding child killer, Freddy Krueger (Robert Englund), with knives on his fingers intended for murder. When Jesse Walsh (Mark Patton) and his family move into a house on Elm Street, Freddy’s demonic spirit aims to possess Jesse’s body. As Jesse strives to stay awake, his parents think he’s using drugs and his friends think he is insane. With only his girlfriend Lisa’s (Kim Meyers) support, Jesse prepares for the battle for his life and his soul in the midst of the murders of his peers. Some of the horror sequences are exciting and sure to delight fans of the genre.

LaserDisc Picture:
The matted 1.85:1 picture exhibits slightly undersaturated colors but otherwise natural fleshtones. Some scenes are overly bright and others are blurred, wanting in sharpness and detail. Night scenes are poorly delineated and slight noise is apparent throughout. There are no distracting artifacts.

LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The sound is undistinguished monaural, but with deep extended bass.
