WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
Strange Days is a “sexy kinetic thriller” that begins on the eve of the Millennium in Los Angeles. Lenny Nero (Fiennes) is an ex-cop turned street hustler who preys on human nature by dealing the dream drug of the future—digitally encrypted personal experiences transferred straight into the brain of another using a compact Digital Virtual Device (DVD?).

LaserDisc Picture:
The visionary cinematography is framed at 2.35:1. The picture elements are exemplary. Colors are vibrant and images are extremely sharp and detailed with no noise or artifact blemishes.

LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The sound is spectacularly spacious and aggressive surrounds create a dimensional holophonic experience by fully utilizing the 5.1 palette for creating movement and directionality. The realism at times is sonically and emotionally uncomfortable. The sound design is one of the best action experiences ever, whether discrete or matrix.
