WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
Henry Fonda stars in the spoofy “spaghetti Western” My Name Is Nobody as lawman Jack Beauregard, a legendary pistoleer who has the reputation as the fastest gun in the territory. But in the year 1899, the West is rapidly changing and Jack quietly yearns for an ocean cruise and a new life in Europe. His dream is put on hold when his brother is gunned down. As Jack scours the West searching for the men responsible, Nobody (Terence Hill), the comical “blue-eyed angel” who idolizes Jack, insists that Jack take on “the Wild Bunch,” 150 of the most dangerous outlaws, to avenge his brother’s death and write the final chapter of prairie history. My Name Is Nobody is a humorous film that satirizes the hero of Sergio Leone’s The Man With No Name as well as Sam Peckinpah and his film The Wild Bunch. The film was a Sergio Leone production (and partially directed by him) shot in the United States, Spain and Rome. The sequel, A Genius, was never shown in the U.S. but is on video in widescreen in Canada. In a double feature with The Appaloosa.
