WSR Narrative Review
Story Synopsis:
In Send Me No Flowers Rock Hudson and Doris Day team up as George and Judy Kimball in a suburban battle of the sexes based on the Broadway play of the same name. George is a chronic hypochondriac even in his dreams. And when he is awake, it is all Judy can do to be tolerant of his obsession with imagined illness he sees in medicine ads on television. He and his close friend and neighbor, Arnold Nash (Tony Randall) commute to Manhattan for work, but George’s real life is golf and visits to his doctor. During an office visit, George overhears a phone call that leads him to believe he only has weeks to live. With much melodrama, he confides only in Arnold and decides to put things right for Judy, including fixing her up with a second husband—a decision that almost destroys their marriage. In a double feature with Lover Come Back.

LaserDisc Picture:
The 1.85:1 picture is slightly blurry and lacks detail. Interior scenes are too bright, but colors are vivid with natural fleshtones. While not as prominent there is slight noise, grain and artifacts in the picture.

LaserDisc Soundtrack:
The sound is compressed mono.
