Story Synopsis:
A desperate owner of a foundering porno production company decides that the only way to save his career is to put on The First Nudie Musical. A cult following has kept this bawdy comedy alive so we all can enjoy the dancing dildos and musical numbers like
DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 1.78:1 DVD exhibits a picture sourced from less-than-optimal elements (as the second commentary mentions, it is sourced from a variety of prints...but co-director Kimmel is thrilled with the way it looks). Film grain, dirt, and scratches abound, and the image is slightly jumpy. Images are soft and slightly smeared, though details can be nicely rendered at times. The picture certainly looks dated, with low contrast and lots of brown hues. Blacks are slightly weak and undefined. Much of what is undesireable about the image is related to the source. Edge enhancement and pixelization are minimal. (Suzanne Hodges)
