Story Synopsis:
"The Kronos Quartet In Performance" (titled on the DVD jacket "Kronos On Stage") tackles two composers
DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 1.78:1 DVD stage performance exhibits nicely rendered images against a pitch black background. Colors are nicely rendered with accurate fleshtones and intriguing accent lighting to showcase the instruments, rather than the performers. While images are mostly sharp and detailed for the close up shots, wider shots of a group of performers can appear slightly smeared. Occasional shimmering details are noticed. (Suzanne Hodges)
Soundtrack:
The Dolby Digital 5.1-channel audio is a remarkable recording. Instruments and the various effects sound impressively pristine and pleasurable. Distribution to the surrounds is rather generous in rendering spatial ambience. The center channel is de-emphasized for this particular sound mix. (Perry Sun)
