Story Synopsis:
In this disturbing film revolving around sex and drugs, Val Kilmer stars as porn king John Holmes. When four people were found brutally murdered on Wonderland Avenue in Hollywood, the police believed that Holmes was somehow involved in the deaths, if not responsible for them himself. With the help of David Lind (McDermott), business partner to one of the victims, the state went after John Holmes and nightclub owner Eddie Nash (Bogosian) in an attempt to bring justice to the dead. If you watch closely, you might catch a glimpse of superstar heiress Paris Hilton. (Tricia Littrell)
DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 1.78:1 DVD picture has a visually edgy appearance with scenes that creatively fade into grimey newspaper clippings, others that are awash in warm yellow overtones, and lots of multi-screen sequences. There is often a gritty texture to the picture. Sharpness and detail are nicely rendered, though the picture intentionally lacks a slick, clean appearance to support the subject matter. Some pixelization is noticed at times, but edge enhancement is not a problem. (Suzanne Hodges)
