Terrific menu designs enhance the mood of the Hitchcock classic, North By Northwest. Starring Cary Grant as Manhattan advertising exec Roger Thornhill, who, through a chance happening, is mistaken for another man and becomes dangerously involved in the world of international espionage. DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 1.78:1 DVD exhibits colors that are quite rich, though the picture is dated. Fleshtones can appear a tad on the orange side, but otherwise exhibit nice balance with the overall color scheme. Images are sharp and exhibit a nice level of detail. The overall appearance of the DVD is smooth and solid, though edge enhancement is prevalent. Viewers should not be disappointed, as this 40-year-old VistaVision picture is very solid with vibrant colors.
