DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 1.85:1 DVD exhibits a gritty picture that seems to be stylistically complementary to the storytelling. Images are generally sharp and detailed, but fine definition is wanting. Colors are rich and dark, with generally accurate fleshtones and deep endless blacks. The picture is a bit dark, but viewing in a completely blackened room reveals satisfying shadow delineation. The source element is revealing of quite a bit of film grain and some dirt.
