Story Synopsis:
Lightning McQueen (Wilson) is one of the finest-looking young Cars on the racetrack, but the young hot rod has a thing or two to learn about team playing. When McQueen ends a race in a three-way tie, he is given one week to get to California to compete in the Piston Cup Championship. But while on Route 66 in the town of Radiator Springs, Lightning falls for a pretty little Porsche named Sally Carrera (Hunt) and discovers that there’s more to life than winning a race. (Tricia Spears)
DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 2.38:1 DVD exhibits a bright and colorful picture with vivid hues and deep blacks. Shadow delineation is also well balanced, and details are resolved very well. Pixelization is not a problem at all, and edge enhancement is minor. This is a very good-looking picture. (Danny Richelieu)
Soundtrack:
The Dolby® Digital Surround EX™ 5.1-channel soundtrack is very good, with well-placed images around the room and good pans. Side wall images are crafted well, creating a fully immersive experience. Dialogue is directionalized around the room with respect to the subject’s on- or off-screen position, although when directionalized across the front stage, there is little phantom imaging between loudspeaker positions. Dynamic range is impressive, and dialogue is recorded well. (Danny Richelieu)
