Story Synopsis:
Atouk (Star) is a prehistoric Caveman who stands at the bottom of the pecking order and longs for Lana (Bach). Trouble is, Lana belongs to Tonda (Matuszak), the NFL football player-sized chief of the tribe. Cast away from the tribe for getting in between Tonda and Lana on their sleeping stone, Atouk forms his own clan with a few other misfits. With Atouk standing as the leader of this new tribe, he decides he wants his own cavewoman...and though he has the quirky Talla (Long) at his side, he wants only to grab Lana by the hair and drag her into his cave. But that is going to take a little bit of ingenuity to dethrone Tonda and win Lana over. Oh, and there is no dialogue...just silly grunting caveman noises and character names. (Suzanne Hodges)
DVD Picture:
The anamorphically enhanced 1.85:1 DVD exhibits a picture that is soft and hazy in some scenes, and generally sharp and pleasing in others. Colors appear somewhat washed out at times, but are generally well balanced. Edge enhancement can be bothersome at times, but is minimal. Overall, the picture has a dated appearance, which may be partially intentional since it takes place a zillion years B.C. Some minor artifacts and dirt are noticed in the source element. (Suzanne Hodges)Also includes a modified 1.33:1 version (not reviewed) on the disc
