In Indignation, passions ignite and cultures clash in this provocative coming-of-age story set in mid-century America and based on the novel by Philip Roth. After Marcus (Lerman), a brilliant working-class Jewish student from New Jersey, arrives at a small, conservative college in Ohio, he becomes infatuated with a beautiful classmate, Olivia (Gadon). Their mutual attraction sparks a torrid encounter with consequences Marcus never imagined, putting his family's best-laid plans—and his own beliefs—to the ultimate test. (Gary Reber)

Special features include the featurettes Timeless: Connecting The Past To The Present (HD 06:01) and Perceptions: Bringing Philip Roth To The Screen (HD 07:16), upfront previews, and an UltraViolet digital copy.

The 1.85:1 1080p AVC picture is stylized to convey the early 1950s at a small Ohio town college. There is a softness to the imagery and a filtered color effect to emulate the reversal color Kodachrome film stock of the period. While digitally photographed using the Arri Alexa and Red Dragon systems, a slight veil of noise is evident throughout,. to create the softness. Hues are natural in appearance, with excellent fleshtone appearance. Contrast is generally well balanced with deep blacks and revealing shadow delineation. Resolution, as mentioned, is generally not finely detailed but generally acceptable. Overall, this is a good-looking picture that nicely captures the visual feel of the period. (Gary Reber)

The DTS-HD Master Audio™ 5.1-channel soundtrack is essentially monaural and dialogue focused throughout. The music score is extremely soft and limited but provides the only surround envelopment, though, barely perceptible. This is a very quiet soundtrack, with an excellent dialogue track, with good spatial integration. (Gary Reber)
