CEDIA attendees will be among the first to see the next generation of home video entertainment as Vidikron debuts its much-anticipated new Visionô Model 30 and Model 50 projectors at the CEDIA EXPO in Indianapolis, September 9 ñ 11, 2005. The video displays are fully customizable solutions for bringing vibrant, living images to projection screens in any room throughout the home. The models create a new class of projector, offering a combination of performance and price that is unique among high-definition video displays. The first production units of the Model 30 and Model 50 will be released in September. ìThe Vision Model 30 and Model 50 are perfect examples of how Vidikron is drawing the line between high-performance and merely high-definition,î said Jim McGall, vice president of sales and marketing at Vidikron. ìThe performance and value these projectors offer canít be found anywhere else, and give our dealers the ability to introduce the full-fledged Vidikron experience to a whole new range of customers. Both of these units are going to stun anyone who sees them in action.î The Model 30 & Model 50 reveal Vidikronís bold approach to design on every level, with the looks, solid build quality, and capabilities one expects from high-end platforms. Flexibility is central to each productís feature set, as both include Vidikronís exclusive Imagixô digital video processing, which delivers pristine video quality from any video source while scaling all incoming signals to the projectorsí 1280 x 720 DMDô native resolution. Users can also select an Extended Throw lens option on the Model 30, enabling installation at a greater distance from the screen. Further boosting versatility of each model is Vidikronís DVSIô DualV Stage Illumination, which optimizes black and white levels for the ideal balance between brightness and contrast ratio in a wide variety of viewing environments. The feature also provides for two lamp output settings, extending lamp life and matching up perfectly to a wide variety of screens. To increase functionality, the Model 50 has been outfitted with power zoom and focus controls to simplify installation and end-user control versatility. Further enhancing the Model 50ís outstanding contrast ratio and dynamic range performance is the inclusion of Vidikronís exclusive V2 aperture control and electronically controlled iris system. In addition, installation flexibility is greatly increased by the Model 50ís vertical electronic lens shift capability. Both the 30 and 50 use a newly refined cooling system that preserves lamp life, increases power efficiency, and greatly reduces fan noise. Also included are multiple discrete input sources, aspect ratio control, power on/off, HDMI input, and an RS-232 interface to support automation control systems. Vidikron also engineered the Vision 30 and Vision 50 calibration controls to meet the standards set by the Imaging Science Foundationô (ISF). This allows installers to optimize all necessary adjustments to white balance, color gamut range, and gray scale tracking in order to achieve the best image in virtually any home theater. The Model 30 (standard throw) & 30 ET (extended throw) are each being offered with an MSRP of $6,995.00, and the Model 50 has an MSRP of $9,995.00.
