Kristin Petrovich, CEO of HD EXPO, has announced the premier of Virtual HD EXPO™, a streaming presentation of the highlights from the November 3, 2005 HD EXPO held in Los Angeles. Virtual HD EXPO will premiere on HDEXPO.net, today, February 28, 2006. HD EXPO, a popular tri-annual technology and industry event, attracted over 4000 attendees to November’s show. Virtual HD EXPO, the streaming presentation of the EXPO’s highlights, includes panels featuring leading filmmakers and industry luminaries; a recap of the popular Speed Dating With Industry Experts; an Ask The Experts section presenting thoughtful comments from leading creative and technical experts; and insightful interviews and comments from technology exhibitors at the show. The evening’s charity fundraising event, an industry poker tournament, is also showcased. In keeping with HD EXPO’s technology focus, production and post production for Virtual HD EXPO were completed in high definition. Virtual HD EXPO presents such topical panels as "The Art of 30-Second Storytelling", and "HD & Beyond" and includes panelists such as Academy Award™ nominated cinematographers Wally Pfister, ASC, Allen Daviau, ASC, HD pioneer Randall Dark, and directors Dana Brown and Christopher Coppola. Petrovich commented, “HD EXPO presents world-class speakers, exhibitors and events. To be able to distribute the HD EXPO experience to a wider audience is an incredible opportunity to spread the word about high definition and its applications in the creative community. Petrovich concluded "Streaming and downloadable technologies are an extremely important industry and cultural trend. QuickTime’s ability to stream and download beautiful images from HD EXPO opens up countless doors for entertainment, learning, and community. Since these are the key mandates of HD EXPO, it’s imperative that we lead the way by delivering our message and experience in the newest and most interesting ways." "Choosing QuickTime 7 to present Virtual HD EXPO was based on the phenomenal quality it affords," noted Dan DiPaolo, President of Digital Production Racks and Executive Producer of Virtual HD EXPO. HD EXPO returns to Los Angeles at LA Center Studios on March 9th for a full day of panels, speakers, and the Display Gallery featuring the newest display technology.
