Denon Begins Shipping Its Award-Winning AVR-2807 A/V Receiver

March 24, 2006

Denon Electronics, one of the world’s premier manufacturers of high-quality home entertainment components, today announced that it has begun shipping its high-performance, high-value AVR-2807 audio/video receiver, recipient of the prestigious 2006 CNET “Best of CES” Award in the Home Audio category. Since its debut at CES, Denon has added a new optional feature to the AVR-2807, a “Denon iDock” outboard docking station that provides simple, convenient connectivity and full control of the popular Apple iPod series of portable players. Mid-Level Price, With High-End Features and Performance With a suggested retail price of just $1,099, Denon’s AVR-2807 receiver includes many of the same features that distinguish Denon’s higher-priced units, such as HDMI digital video source switching. In addition, for maximum performance from all video sources, the AVR-2807 upconverts all incoming analog video signals (composite, component and S-Video) to HDMI output and provides a simple one-cable connection between receiver and display. Other features in the AVR-2807 include the unique room correction and calibration technology called MultEQXT™ from Audyssey Laboratories that maximizes room acoustics for multiple listeners, creating an optimized 6-point soundfield and compensating for speaker and room capabilities to provide a “sweet spot” for every listener in the room. With a full complement of all current available Dolby and DTS surround sound decoding technologies, the AVR-2807 combines superb sound quality with expanded audio/video control and interoperability features. For instance, included IR remote in/out terminals provide for integrated system control, and an RS-232C serial port and assignable 12V trigger controls add to the unit’s integratability in a variety of advanced home entertainment systems. In addition, like all Denon receivers, the AVR-2807 features assignable amplifier configuration for either 7.1-channel surround operation or 5.1 surround with an amplified second zone. Optional Docking Station Lets Users Expand Home Entertainment Experience The AVR-2807’s optional Denon iDock (ASD-1R) docking station allows users to expand their portable music experience, offering many of the same advanced features and capabilities as Denon’s acclaimed S-301 and S-101 integrated home entertainment systems. In addition to providing complete control and connectivity of Apple iPods, the station lets users enjoy optimum audio performance from their iPod, as well as access to the video/photo library stored on their iPod if so equipped. The Denon iDock is available in both white and black, and comes complete with all necessary cables and dock spacers to accommodate all iPod, Nano and Mini models. For instance, once an iPod is placed in the docking station, users enjoy access to all features and functions of their portable player. Once connected (using the simple onscreen setup guide provided), all basic iPod features, including volume control, menu navigation, play, stop and skip, can be accessed via the Denon remote control and will recharge their iPods while connected. The optional docking station fully supports all 3rd/4th/5th iPod generations and will retail for $130. Like the Denon AVR-4806, AVR-4306, AVR-3806 and AVR-2106, the AVR-2807 features XM Satellite Radio’s new “Connect-and-Play” technology, which lets users add XM Satellite Radio functionality with the addition of an optional “Connect-and-Play” XM Satellite Radio antenna (SRP: $49.99).
