Agilent Technologies Inc. (NYSE:A) today announced the availability of the highest bandwidth High Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) test point access fixture currently available. Called the Agilent N1020A Options K12 and K13, the fixture delivers measurement bandwidth beyond 6GHz, with rise times well below 100 picoseconds (ps), which supports the margins required by HDMI Authorized Testing Centers. HDMI is the high-speed interface between a digital video source -- such as a set-top box, DVD player or A/V receiver -- and a digital video monitor. This fixture is used in conjunction with the Agilent Infiniium Oscilloscopes and the HDMI Transmitter Compliance Test solution to measure waveform parameters, such as rise time and data eye, stipulated by the HDMI Compliance Test Specification. "This test solution for HDMI is extremely critical to the consumer electronics market," said David Churchill, vice president and general manager, Digital Validation Division, Agilent Technologies. "Until now, no fixtures have provided the bandwidth to adequately measure waveform parameters for higher resolutions. Our new fixture will deliver the margin needed by Authorized Testing Centers for HDMI." The Agilent N1020A supports the test needs for HDMI as specified in the HDMI Compliance Test Specification 1.2a. Priced at $5,500, this test solution is available to order now, with delivery anticipated at five weeks. It is available in Plug-End or Receptacle-End models.
