AudioSource®, a division of Phoenix Gold® International, Inc., will feature its new multi-room audio distribution system - the MRD1 - at the 2006 Electronic House Expo (EHX), held from March 30 - April 1 at the Orange County Convention Center (Orlando, Fla.), booth #1122. “Designed to be the heart of any home-based audio system, the MRD1 can distribute audio to any room in the house,” explained Tom O’Mara, Phoenix Gold Senior Vice President. “As audio systems become more complicated and whole house distribution becomes more popular, AudioSource has developed an easy-to-use, yet sophisticated answer to both of these questions. The MRD1 is the answer for those seeking multi-feature, high quality, zoned audio distribution at a price that is easily affordable for virtually any household.” Features of the MRD1 include: accepts up to six sources (including the built-in AM/FM tuner) and can distribute those sources to up to six zones 12 channel x 20W amplifier section includes six keypads with faceplates in white, almond, and black includes IR Remote control The keypads connect to the MRD-1 with Cat-5 cable. Using the keypad makes it simple to select a source, adjust volume, or adjust bass and treble for each zone independently, as well as adjusting AM and FM presets. The user can also turn on or off a single zone from the keypad, or turn the whole house on or off with the push of a single button. An infrared remote included with the system will manage all of these functions, and also allow the adjustment of balance within the zone.
