ColorLink Makes Available 3-D Monitor For Stereoscopic Viewing

April 18, 2006

ColorLink now makes available an inexpensive 3-D monitor for stereoscopic viewing. Users will be able to switch between normal 2-D and 3-D viewing with a push of a button. 3-D visualization has been typically limited to engineers and scientists because of cost. Consumers and especially gamers will find the price of this new monitor to be affordable enough to add 3-D viewing to their desktop at work and home. Most video games currently available on the market are already enabled to be viewed in exciting 3-D. Until now what has been missing is an inexpensive display. This 17-inch diagonal monitor with SXGA resolution offers superior image brightness and clarity in both 2-D and 3-D modes. ColorLink's President, Leo Bannon, stated: "We hope by providing an inexpensive 3-D monitor more consumers will be able to take advantage of the thrilling aspect of 3-D. The recent success of 3-D movies such as Polar Express and Chicken Little shows consumers are interested in 3-D again. The red and blue glasses of the past have been replaced with circularly polarized glasses that eliminate eyestrain and fatigue." Set-up of the monitor is simple and only requires a computer with a stereo-ready graphics card and driver such as the nVidia Quadro FX series. About ColorLink, Inc.
