Russound Education Helps Integration Professionals Maintain Certification

Training Education and Certification department training courses receive accreditation from CEDIA and NBFAA

May 31, 2006

Russound announced a number of its training courses have gained accreditation by two national industry associations. The Custom Electronic Design & Installation Association (CEDIA) declared Russound Training Education and Certification (TEC) courses meet their stringent requirements for retaining industry certification. For security and alarm professionals, the National Burglar & Fire Alarm Association (NBFAA) has stated Russound classes will earn them the necessary credits to help maintain their credentials. The news bolsters the company’s commitment to providing some of the best technical and sales training options in the industry. “With more states requiring that low voltage installers obtain Continuing Education Units in order to maintain their certification, having our courses accredited is crucial for their success, as well as Russound’s. Now our dealers, distributors and integrators can learn what they need to know about Russound products, while earning the necessary credits,” said Sales Support and Education Director Chuck Fortier. “Our education mission has always been to provide the know-how and tools to help our dealers. Industry certification is a natural migration that meets the needs of today’s CE Dealer. With the overwhelming response and near capacity attendance, I know our customers value Russound’s education programs.” The company offers courses online 24 hours a day, tradeshow sessions and, new in 2006, the “Wired UP” in-house training and “All Wired Up” Road tour. Attendees of Russound’s in-house and road tour training sessions receive 4.00 credit hours from CEDIA and .8 from the NBFAA, providing them with a large part of their certification requirements. This four-sided approach gives those in the industry access to education when and where it is most convenient for them. Many professionals in the industry are concerned about the impending licensure requirements being decided in various State legislatures. “We want them to be prepared to meet that new requirement in the event the bills pass,” said Fortier. “Attending seminars, workshops and training sessions, especially those with accreditation, will keep integrators up to speed and hopefully aid them if licensure becomes a reality.” Russound’s mission is to make their customers’ jobs easier and provide them with what they need to grow their businesses. Helping dealers, distributors and integrators be prepared to meet the demands of our exciting, ever-changing industry is at the top of their list. Receiving accreditation from national industry organizations shows the company is fulfilling that mission.
