Peerflix Trading Platform Manages Over One Million DVD Records; Legal Peer To Peer Platform Grows To Over One Million Combined DVDs Available And Requested For Trade Enabling Several Members To Swap Over One Thousand DVDs Each

June 14, 2006

Peerflix, the leading online trading network that allows members to legally swap DVDs in a peer-to-peer (P2P) environment, today announced that its members are now using the Peerflix system to manage over one million DVD trade requests. Furthermore, Peerflix announced that several of its loyal members have reached the landmark figure of one thousand DVDs received through its peer-to-peer trading service. The company attributes its substantial growth to the increasing popularity of online trading as an alternative to rental models for low-cost items such as movies on DVD. "The online trading phenomena is here to stay," said Billy McNair, Peerflix CEO. "Since Peerflix led the resurgence of online trading in 2004, we have seen increasingly strong consumer adoption of the trading model as a way to derive repeat value from media purchases. More recently, a myriad of smaller sites have been re-applying our business model, further validating the space and strengthening Peerflix's position. We believe online trading will eventually replace rentals for small ticket items such as DVDs completely." Jay Woodland of Bradenton, FL, is representative of a new class of loyal Peerflix users who have successfully leveraged the service to build a vast DVD collection at a low cost. Woodland, who is disabled, became a member of Peerflix in 2004 and has been trading heavily since then. Woodland just recently received his 1000th DVD through the Peerflix network. "What I like best about Peerflix is that it's a great way to get a lot of DVDs economically. I can buy DVDs for $10 to $20 or rent DVDs for $4 to $5, but getting DVDs through Peerflix at only $0.99 a trade is the obvious choice for me," explained Woodland. When asked about his favorite aspect of Peerflix compared to online DVD rental companies, he pointed out that "the ability to get an unlimited number of DVDs cheap is something that services such as Netflix or Blockbuster can't offer at the level that Peerflix does." Peerflix users trade directly with one another using the patent-pending PeerMailer. The company itself carries no inventory and does not participate in the transaction: it simply matches people and products while optimizing for trade speed, frequency, and geography. Peerflix transfers its low overhead directly to customers by only charging $0.99 for each trade facilitated by its system. Peerflix offers free membership for new users and a free DVD upon account activation. About Peerflix Peerflix offers a legal peer-to-peer platform for trading DVDs online. As an alternative to renting DVDs or buying DVDs, the service allows users to legally trade DVDs directly with one another, across a large, decentralized network. Using the Peerflix service, members can get the most out of their DVD collections, maintaining a dynamic and updated library of DVD titles in a cost effective manner. Started in 2004, Peerflix has already grown to become the leading online destination for DVD owners to trade their DVDs. The Peerflix service is currently available in both the United States and Canada. For more information, please visit http://www.peerflix.com.
