Boulder Amplifiers is proud to announce a new product release from the 800 Series: the 810 Stereo Preamplifier, which was designed based on the critically acclaimed 1010 Stereo Preamplifier. The 800 Series, which will encompass single-box players, surround processors, media players and amplification, will also include new audiophile-targeted preamplifiers, integrated amplifiers, and phono preamplifiers. Circuit features include Boulder’s balanced, three-stage instrumentation style, dual-mono input section, Boulder’s proprietary 0.5 dB stepped volume control system, a fully filtered and regulated dual toroid linear power supply, programmable input control, two pairs of fully balanced XLR output connections, balanced record outputs, a dimmable and programmable alpha-numeric front panel display, and a fully machined metal IR remote control. Total Boulderlink communication capability and IR/IR Repeater connections are present on the 810 Stereo Preamplifier and will be standard on all 800 Series products. Build quality and design standards are equal to all Boulder products. With a suggested US retail price of just $6,900, the 810 Stereo Preamplifier has been released with a price tag nearly $1,000 below expectations. Retail cost savings were first realized with the 810 Stereo Preamplifier by reducing machined monolithic chassis components and complexity. Implementing a less expensive power supply, as well as using microcircuitry in gain stages also contributed to lower production costs. Further savings are realized in the 810 Stereo Preamplifier since it does not have an internal phono stage. Intended to be just as “at home” in an audio, combined audio/video, or theater system, the 810 Stereo includes a programmable Theater Bypass function. Users aren’t forced to choose between a “theater” or an “audio” product – the 810 Stereo Preamplifier is adaptable to either scenario without compromise. Entirely conceived, engineered, and manufactured in Boulder, Colorado, the 810 Stereo Preamplifier is a complete, proprietary Boulder design, and includes no assemblies or subassemblies contract manufactured in the Far East. In-house design and manufacturing provides greater quality control and reliability, guaranteed bespoke design and engineering, and a much higher and lasting residual value. Well known for creating the most accomplished and advanced cost-no-object products in the world, Boulder has traditionally manufactured products priced beyond the reach of most users. With the release of the 810 Stereo Preamplifier, previously unaffordable Boulder performance is finally attainable.
