ADCOM Bows GFR-700HD & GTP-870 Home Theater Products

ADCOM’s newest components include the National Semiconductor AVC2510 Video DSP— allowing analog video sources to be scaled up to and including 1080p/60 Hz and output via HDMI

ADCOM LLC, a legacy brand of premium audio and video equipment for the home, today announced two new home theater components that expand on ADCOM’s 30-year history of innovation: the GFR-700HD A/V Receiver and the GTP-870HD A/V Processor, which include National Semiconductor’s Adaptive Video Format Converter. “The consumer today has available a wide range of audio and video formats, not to mention a vast number of HDTV display options. With these two new products ADCOM has met the challenge posed by the wide range of content along with various connectivity and display resolution issues. Consumers can now bring in analog video sources and choose the best output resolution for their display whether it is 480p, 720p, VGA, 1080i @ 50/60 Hz or 1080p @ 50/60 Hz,” said Dan Donnelly, ADCOM’s Managing Director. The GFR-700HD is a derivative of ADCOM’s current GFR-700 A/V Receiver. Both the GFR-700 and the GFR-700HD share the same Dolby* and DTS** audio processing technology, number of audio and video inputs and the legendary ADCOM power of 125WPC. For those consumers that have made the jump to HDTV and have HDMI inputs on their display ADCOM’s GFR-700HD allows the end-user’s cable box, video games, DVD and broadcast television programming to be scaled to match the display’s native HD resolution. The GTP-870HD is ADCOM’s latest 7.1-Channel A/V Processor solution. Along with a full compliment of industry-standard audio and video inputs, the GTP-870 also sports balanced (XLR) outputs for use with ADCOM’s most powerful multichannel amplifiers. The GTP-870HD also incorporates the National Semiconductor Video Converter and like the GFR-700HD allows the user to configure each video input for the proper resolution needed for their HD display. The GFR-700HD will have a MSRP of $2899. The GTP-870HD will list for $2499. The GFR-700HD is expected to ship in August and the GTP-870HD in September.
