Phase Technology Unveils Sub Line With Serious Output

New Power FL 8, 10 and 12 inch models deliver maximum excursion

September 12, 2006

Phase Technology, the leading manufacturer of high-fidelity speakers for custom home entertainment systems, introduces a new line of high-performance subwoofers which deliver uncompromised bass output from proprietary high-excursion drivers. Phase Tech’s all-new high-performance Power FL subwoofers deliver uncompromised bass output from proprietary 8, 10 and 12 inch high-excursion subwoofers. To maximize output, Phase Tech has integrated a proprietary butyl rubber surround design that is virtually double the size of conventional surrounds for a significant increase in excursion. The combination of a monstrous, oversized surround with an ultra long-throw, mineral-filled polypropylene woofer and a downward-firing bass radiator delivers serious bass response and output. To minimize distortion, this monstrous woofer/surround configuration is attached to a .75” to 1” MDF baffle and mated to curved architectural cabinets. Driving the powered woofers is an all-new 250 Watt servo-controlled amplifier that monitors and adjusts output for dynamic and undistorted response. Power FL Series subwoofers also include gain control, a phase switch, variable crossover frequencies, line level inputs, a separate LFE input and video-shielding. Ken Hecht, Phase Technology President commented, “In developing the all-new Power FL subwoofer series, we focused on woofer cone technology and maximum excursion to deliver serious punch. The result is ground-shaking bass response without distortion.”The Power FL-8, Power FL-10 and Power FL-12 products come in black rosewood laminate. Power FL Series will be displayed at CEDIA booths 412 & SR7. About Phase Technology Phase Technology Corporation (toll-free at 888-PHASE TK; website at www.phasetech.com) is one of the few fully-vertically integrated American speaker manufacturers. The company started as United Speaker Systems in 1955 as an original equipment manufacturer and still designs and produces its own sub-assemblies in-house. Phase Technology’s speaker lines incorporate many proprietary innovations like the soft-dome tweeter, the industry’s standard invented by Bill Hecht, founder of Phase Technology. Other patents cover the self-damping woofer voice coil, the manufacturing process for flat-piston midrange drivers and woofers, silicone-injected drivers for resonance damping, and the positive-clamping mounting system for the premier in-wall Model CI-110/II. The company also developed the Unicell™ Zero-Diffraction treatment that reduces acoustic reflections off cabinet and grille surfaces. Phase Technology manufactures its wood cabinets by hand and performs quality control tests at every step of the fabrication process. Building on five decades of design and engineering innovation in the manufacture of high quality, yet affordable speakers, Phase Technology supports its products with a 10-year warranty on speakers, while amplifiers are backed by a 3-year warranty. Phase Technology’s digital home theater, audiophile, outdoor, in-wall/in-ceiling custom installation speakers, as well as powered and in-wall subwoofers are constructed at the company’s Jacksonville, Florida facility.
