High Fidelity HDTV Inc., Canada's independent High-Definition (HD) broadcasting leader, today announced the launch of two new channels, Rush HD and Equator HD, broadening its suite of services to four family-friendly, all-HD channels. Rush HD and Equator HD are now available on Bell ExpressVu, joining the two High Fidelity HDTV services launched in March, OasisHD and Treasure HD. "These two new channels provide Canadians with even more unparalleled viewing of original HD content", said John Panikkar, co-founder of High Fidelity HDTV. "Our new channels Rush HD and Equator HD, together with our OasisHD and Treasure HD channels, make owning an HD television worth the investment. Nowhere else can you get as much true-HD programming which is all Canadian premiere, and all of it smart, refreshing and beautiful" he added. Rush HD is a no-boundaries, no-limits adrenaline rush of the amazing things people will do to test their personal and physical danger zones. Rush HD redefines the action genre both technically and creatively, giving Canadian viewers the ultimate home entertainment and edge-of-the-seat experience. Said Panikkar: "It's everything from surfing a wave the height of a ten-story building, to pulling 5G's in a jet fighter, to the BMX bike park in your neighborhood. It's an "I-can't-believe-they-just-did-that!" television experience, made real and intimate through the power and clarity of High-Definition." Also launched today, Equator HD brings the world's most intriguing places and people into intimate and personal contact with the viewer, with exclusive stories of remote cultures, exotic geography and unique rituals and spectacles. Said High Fidelity HDTV co-founder Ken Murphy: "Equator HD programming allows us to hold a mirror up to ourselves, who we are, and how we interact with our planet." He added: "It is television at its most observational and unobtrusive, with context, colour and clarity." Rush HD and Equator HD broaden the significant programming and production alliance forged between High Fidelity HDTV and Rainbow HD Holdings LLC, a subsidiary of Rainbow Media Holdings LLC, of the United States. Rush HD and Equator HD are established brands in the U.S., as is Treasure HD. All three brands are a part of Rainbow's VOOM HD suite of channels in the U.S. OasisHD has been developed solely by High Fidelity HDTV. "We look forward to growing the global reach of VOOM HD Networks' channel brands and programming by bringing both to Canadian viewers through our agreement with High Fidelity HDTV," said Greg Moyer, VOOM HD's General Manager. "High Fidelity's success with Treasure HD, and the addition of Rush HD and Equator HD to its channel suite, validates the appeal of VOOM HD Networks' engaging programming as well as consumers' growing demand for quality HD content." "We are bringing to Canadians the best HD-content available globally, bar none, and are thrilled to be developing original HD programming that stands apart in Canadian television. Our strategic relationship with Rainbow Media Holdings gives us exclusive Canadian rights to the Rush HD, Equator HD and Treasure HD brands, and access to hundreds of hours of VOOM HD programming. We are providing unique programming that is simply not available in any other format in Canada," concludes Murphy. About High Fidelity HDTV Inc.
