Terrestrial Digital Unveils Lacrosse Micron HDTV Antennas At CEDIA Expo 2006; Revolutionary Antenna Line Scheduled To Hit The Market In Early 2007

September 19, 2006

Among ridiculous 100" plasma screen TV's and gigantic whole-house audio systems, one practical product debuting at the CEDIA Expo this weekend actually will change the face of home entertainment. And believe it or not, it's an antenna. The Lacrosse Micron HDTV antenna line will debut this weekend at Terrestrial Digital's booth #734 at the CEDIA Expo in Denver. The manufacturer's new antenna line boasts the first breakthroughs in antenna design technology in decades. The Micron technology will be offered in 3 versions: 1. Clearstream Digital Tuner / Antenna combination - the first practical antenna/set top box combo on the market. 2. Lacrosse Micron All Weather - an outdoor model that, at 10"x12"x4", is 40% smaller than the original Lacrosse antenna and at least as powerful. 3. Lacrosse Micron Indoor - a 9"x9"x4" antenna that's less intrusive and more powerful than any other indoor antennas on the market. The Lacrosse Micron antennas are the result of extensive research conducted by Terrestrial Digital, using recently developed antenna simulation technologies. By conducting thousands of "what if" scenarios the Terrestrial Digital R&D team developed a process to hone antenna geometries in on the narrower digital bandwidth. "Until now, the basic design of most small HD antennas was about the same," Terrestrial Digital President Richard Schneider said. "The assumption was that the technology behind antenna design had reached a peak. We've discovered that isn't the case." Over-the-air antennas have seen a comeback in the dawn of HDTV because they provide superior picture quality without compressing the signal. "As HDTV continues to become more popular we're developing products to serve a more mainstream customer base," Schneider said. "In our experience, performance and aesthetics are the highest priorities to consumers. So we're out to provide both." Terrestrial Digital is a St. Louis based manufacturer and distributor of off air HDTV antennas. The company was founded in 2003 by Richard Schneider, and continues its pledge to the development of new antenna technology for HDTV.
