September 19, 2006

Sharp once again raises the bar for DLP front projection home theater with the brand-new flagship SharpVision® XV-Z20000 1080p DLP™ home theater front projector. The XV-Z20000 features a sleek new high-gloss black design and utilizes a single 1080p DMD chip from Texas Instruments to create one of the most spectacular images available in projection today. This 16:9 aspect ratio projector recreates a true cinematic experience, allowing consumers to enjoy movies in their original widescreen format in spectacular high-definition clarity, within a dedicated home theater setting. "As Sharp's first front projector to boast full HD 1080p high-definition display capability, the XV-Z20000 is a groundbreaking addition to our award-winning line-up of home theater front projectors, and a bold statement of our front projection prowess," said Bruce Tripido, senior director and group leader, Entertainment Products Division, Sharp. "The XV-Z20000 delivers the pinnacle of high-definition resolution standards so that home theater enthusiasts can experience their favorite films with superior picture quality in the comfort of their own home." The XV-Z20000 has true 16:9 widescreen movie viewing and a full HD native resolution of 1920 x 1080, producing clear and vivid images. A powered iris switchover function gives the consumer enhanced control over brightness and contrast settings with the touch of a button on the remote control, providing flexibility in varying home theater environments with different lighting situations. With a contrast ratio of 12000:1 and a high brightness level of 1000 ANSI lumens, users are guaranteed a magnificent and crystal-clear picture. Leveraging Sharp's proprietary CV-IC III Video Scaling Circuitry, which upconverts standard resolution signals to the native resolution of the projector, the XV-Z20000 achieves projection excellence for virtually any content. DVI/HDCP (High Bandwidth Digital Content Protection) and two HDMI™ terminals ensure a secure digital connection with compatible high-definition set-top boxes, RS 232, Minolta optics, and a 1:1.35 manual zoom lens with vertical lens shift function simplify installation. Pricing and availability * The XV-Z20000 will be available in October for a Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) of $11,999.99.
