Coinciding with Matrix Audio’s announcement regarding the availability of the four-source Mi-Series 4, six-source Mi-Series 6 and eight-source Mi-Series 8 controllers, the company is also debuting its innovative feature-enhancing options at the show. Matrix Audio’s flagship Mi-Series family of controllers enables users to distribute the audio from as many as eight sources, including AM/FM tuners, CD players, MP3 players and satellite radio receivers, to up to 64 zones or rooms in homes or businesses. The Mi-Series controllers incorporate Matrix Audio’s proprietary Speaker Wire Technology (SWT), support the company’s full touch screen interface (keypad) technology and feature enhanced audio DSP capability provided by SRS Labs™ which includes TruBass™ Bass Boost to create a virtual subwoofer in every zone. Matrix Audio will debut and demonstrate several products designed to enhance the functionality and control of the Mi-Series controller, including the new flush-mount LCD Touchscreen Keypad, on-board Sirius Satellite Radio tuner(s), the innovative Carbon XA Expandable Amplifier, and the network interface card that enables Matrix Audio’s Mi-Control technology. All Matrix Audio Designs products dynamically detect the presence of all on-board accessories, providing plug and play system expansion. The new flush-mount LCD Touchscreen Keypad provides users with an attractive, non-obtrusive interface with the Mi-Series controller delivering full control over the audio played in each zone with the ability to select audio sources, access and control each source function, control volume, and manage system settings for bass, treble, SRS/WOW, and balance. Additionally, the LCD Touchscreen Keypad displays information from on-board AM/FM tuner(s) and Sirius Satellite Radio tuner(s), as well as source presets. New on-board single or dual Sirius Satellite Radio tuner(s) can be added to the system and, when used in conjunction with the new LCD Touchscreen Keypad, provides the user with visual feedback of channel, artist, and track information. The Carbon XA Expandable Amplifier delivers the additional power required to support larger or multiple speaker pairs in a single zone such as in a large backyard where speakers are needed near the pool, Jacuzzi, barbeque, and patio. Each Carbon XA amplifier is 60 watts per channel and 4 ohm stable, and can be configured to add one to four additional pairs of speakers to a single zone. The modular design allows users to stack up to three units enabling the controller to drive a total of 12 speakers in the same zone. The optional Mi-Control Network Interface Card connects the Mi-Series Controller to an existing wired or wireless network infrastructure to provide full IP connectivity and control of the system.
