Audiovox Unveils Nine Flat Panel LCD TVs

Audiovox Corporation (NASDAQ: VOXX). Audiovox today announced the expansion of its successful LCD flat panel TV line with the introduction of nine models featuring screen sizes ranging from 8 to 47 inches. Tom Malone, senior VP, Sales, made the announcement, saying, "From the time Audiovox entered the flat panel LCD TV market, we have enjoyed retail and consumer acceptance and steady growth. Our line is the popular choice of our retailer-partners who appreciate the price points and profit potential that the line carries in this very competitive market place." The company credits their success in the home market to their experience in the mobile video market where they hold the number one market share. "Our number one market position in mobile has provided us with the understanding of consumer preferences in video and has also allowed us to cultivate the key manufacturing partners to focus on the in home market," Malone said. The Company's new line includes 9 full-featured models that range from a Hi-Definition (FPE4706) 47-inch model at $3,600 to a portable 8-inch screen unit (FPE1080) with built-in DVD slot at $229. In between are a wide variety of screen sizes with consumer-friendly features that continue to make this a stand out line - like the 32 and 27 inch models with unique modular DVD player that allows the user to mount the DVD player onto the back of the monitor in a variety of rear panel positions to facilitate consumer use through its modular design; 20, 19 and 15-inch models that feature built-in DVD players and USB card ports. The smaller screen models also boast a variety of specialized features including the 2.5 hour built in battery on the 10.2-inch model and built-in slot-load DVD player on the 8-inch screen. We plan to continue to build on our success with the large regional chains and we plan to increase our market share by expanding into the well known national retailers."
