Vutec Forms Partnership With Corporate Canvas To Expand ArtScreen Selections

September 19, 2006

To increase the availability of contemporary artworks for the company’s ArtScreen and SoundScape 360 masking systems, Vutec has formed an exclusive partnership with Corporate Canvas, a fine arts company in North Carolina (www.corporatecanvas.com) which publishes the artworks of more than 35 national and international artists. The ArtScreen masking system incorporates a hardwood frame and retractable screen with a digital art-on-canvas print to create a technologically advanced masking system for Plasma and LCD televisions and video projection screens. When the artwork is retracted, the screen is visible for projection or television viewing within the frame. When the television is not in use, a reproduction of art or photography is displayed within the frame. Integrated into the ArtScreen housing, SoundScape 360 features a fully dimensional sound compartment that can be positioned above or below the video display, which meets all existing manufacturer’s specifications. The new framed art dimension also expands image flexibility to accommodate a greater variety of portraits and other vertically shaped works of art. “We’re excited to embark on this venture with Vutec for it represents a unique way of providing original works of art to institutions and consumers,” said Hap Willard, owner of Corporate Canvas. “Integrating high technology with contemporary art is a brilliant concept for applying modern design. For those who wish to enjoy the benefits of both media, Vutec’s innovative products such as ArtScreen and SoundScape 360 enable ‘dual use’ advantages through a single platform.” The first effort of the partnership will be unveiled in Vutec’s exhibit at CEDIA with a 42-inch SoundScape featuring a contemporary painting by Gilbert Marosi entitled “She’s a Rainbow”, (see attached illustration), using the giclée digital print-on-canvas method of reproduction. “She's A Rainbow” is from Gilbert's Women Of Cuba Series-romantic impressionist paintings of women the artist met on travels in Cuba, and painted with a full complement of colors using a palette knife to create thick, bold strokes. Using precise, high resolution digital photography to capture every detail and shading of the original painting, Corporate Canvas’ giclées bring a new level of quality to the art screen product. “With this and future partnerships with the art community,” commented Kevin R. Baisley, Vutec’s vice president of sales and marketing, “we will be able to provide end-users with a much greater selection of art for our ArtScreen and SoundScape 360 models.” About Corporate Canvas The North Carolina-based fine art publisher and retail art gallery provides fine art originals and high quality limited edition reproductions from more than three dozen modern artists to the design and art markets.
