Longtime Audio Industry Veteran Bill Harrell Assumes Vice Presidency Role At Jamo U.S.

Klipsch Group Americas, distribution company for the Klipsch and Jamo speaker brands, announced that Bill Harrell has been promoted to vice president of Jamo U.S. In his new position, Harrell is responsible for overseeing distribution, channel and category strategies for the Jamo brand in North and South America. “Bill comes to Jamo with a very strong track record in the audio industry, having efficiently moved through the sales ranks at Klipsch,” said Dave Kelley, president of Klipsch Group Americas. “I want to thank Bill for his hard work, leadership and dedication. He has been a key player in our success so I am confident that the future of Jamo has never looked brighter.” Harrell joined Klipsch in 1995 as a sales representative and quickly assumed leadership roles that included director of sales for the residential contracting division and, more recently, national sales manager for the company’s specialty retail and contractor business. While managing the residential contracting division, he led the factory-direct Klipsch sales team in expanding the distribution of Klipsch-brand products into the residential contracting market achieving 71 percent sales growth. In 1999, Harrell received the Klipsch Sales Representative of the Year award. Harrell has over 20 years in the consumer electronics industry. He began his career at Highland Superstores where he started as a sales representative and, within six months, moved into a management position. During his 10 years at Highland Superstores, he was named audio sales manager of the year in 1989. Harrell grew up in Perry, Ga. and currently lives in Indian Shores, Fla. He is a 1983 graduate of Lawrence North High School in Indianapolis, Ind. Jamo, recognized for its technological innovation and Danish design, is a premier European speaker brand with significant distribution in the United States through various dealers and installers. The company also owns and operates 135 company-operated retail stores in China. Klipsch purchased the brand name and key assets of the privately held Jamo A/S in February 2005.
