Gary Church Joins MISCO As Chief Engineer

Former Rockford (RAD) Chief Engineer to Expand MISCO’s Engineering and Product Development Capabilities

MISCO™/ Minneapolis Speaker Company, Inc., a leader in innovative loudspeaker solutions, today announced that Gary Church has joined the company as the Chief Engineer. Church, recognized in the audio industry as a loudspeaker transducer and system design expert, brings extensive experience in designing all types and sizes of speakers to MISCO. In the newly created position, Church will oversee all of MISCO’s Engineering and Product Development. Church will report to Dan Digre, MISCO president. “We are very excited about the capabilities Mr. Church brings us”, said Dan Digre, President of MISCO. “Gary is well known for his numerous high performance loudspeaker designs. His extensive experience and vast knowledge of loudspeaker transducer and system design will now be available to MISCO’s customers, allowing us to better support them in their evermore demanding product requirements. It remains our overall strategy to be the leader in innovative loudspeaker solutions for custom applications.” Church’s background includes over 37 years in the loudspeaker industry. He studied electrical engineering at Valparaiso Technical Institute and received an ASEE degree. He immediately joined Electro-Voice and worked with Ray Newman on the design of the Interface: A, one of the country’s first vented loudspeaker systems based on the works of Neville Thiele and Richard Small. Gary joined Utah Electronics and was a project engineer charged with the development of loudspeakers and systems for several key OEM accounts. He joined Carbonneau Industries as senior project engineer and continued to design loudspeakers for many well known OEM accounts. Gary played a major role in Rockford Corporation’s acquisition of Carbonneau and was named Chief Engineer of Carbonneau, later to be restructured as Rockford Acoustic Design (RAD). As RAD Chief Engineer, he was responsible for the design and development of all loudspeaker products sold under the Rockford Fosgate, Hafler and Fosgate Audionics brands. He left Rockford Corporation in June of 2006.
